Privacy Policy

How Buzz Accounting South Africa collects, uses and protects personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and — for UK client data — the UK GDPR.

Who we are

Buzz Accounting SA (Registration No. K2026/501400/07) is part of the Buzz Accounting group, with offices in Pretoria (South Africa), London and Ballymena (United Kingdom). For the purposes of POPIA we are the responsible party for personal information processed in connection with our South African services; where we process UK client data on behalf of UK accounting firms, we do so as an operator/processor under the firm's instructions.

What we collect

Contact details you give us (name, email, phone), information about your business needed to deliver accounting, tax, payroll and company secretarial services (including financial records, tax reference numbers and employee payroll data), and technical information from your use of this website (such as pages visited).

Why we process it

To provide the services you've engaged us for; to meet our own legal obligations (including to SARS, CIPC and anti-money-laundering law); to respond to enquiries; and, with your consent, to send you relevant updates. We process only what the purpose requires.

Sharing and cross-border transfers

We share personal information only where the service requires it (for example with SARS, CIPC or software providers we use to deliver the work) or where the law demands it. Because our group operates in both South Africa and the UK, information may be transferred between group offices under appropriate safeguards consistent with POPIA section 72 and UK GDPR requirements. For UK firm outsourcing engagements, client data remains in the firm's own systems wherever practicable. We use Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) as our email platform: when you complete a form on this site, your name, email address and the content of your message are sent to it so that we can reply and send you anything you requested. That is a cross-border transfer to the European Union, made under the safeguards described above.

Security and retention

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to secure personal information against loss, damage and unauthorised access, and we keep it only as long as the engagement and the law require (tax and accounting records carry statutory retention periods).

Your rights

Under POPIA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may object to processing or lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa). UK data subjects have equivalent rights under UK GDPR. To exercise any of these, email hello@buzzaccounting.co.uk.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels. It uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, gated behind your consent: nothing loads and no cookie is set unless you accept it on the banner, and declining changes nothing about how the site works. We don't sell personal information.
